Elaine and Jonathan are members of SIM serving in Niger Republic, West Africa. Elaine is from Vancouver WA, USA, and Jonathan from Wisborough Green, West Sussex. They met, married and had three children in Nigeria before moving to Niger in 1987. Their ministry is Bible teaching and church planting among the Hausa people. For many years they have supervised the Read & Live literacy project as a means of introducing unreached communities to the gospel.
The Burts now have a home base in Storrington. On the 3rd December 2012 they returned to Niger. They will be moving to a new location, the small town of Djindiou. In 2011 this became a new department administrative centre. Their goal is to see a church started there, and to continue with Bible teaching and literacy work in the wider region.
Contact them by email: firstname.lastname@example.org. They will be happy to send you monthly updates so you can pray more effectively for them and the work. Here is a link to find more about SIM: http://www.sim.co.uk
